Here's a summary of the new features recently added to TripIt.

Blogbadge-whats-new

TripIt Blog Badge

September 2008

The new TripIt Blog Badge automatically displays your current location, your upcoming trip destinations, and your travel stats. Visitors to your blog can see your travel plans and click thru to your TripIt Profile to see any other details that you've chosen to share. Easy to add to personal blogs and websites. Add Blog Badge.

A New Way to Share

July 2008

Many of you have asked for a way to share your TripIt itineraries with more people. Now you can create a public web link that you can email to friends, post on your blog, or promote however you want. Viewers don't even have to be TripIt users--anyone can visit the URL to view your trip details. To get started, click "Share This Trip" on your itinerary to see the option for making your trip public.

Events

June 2008

If your next trip includes dinner and a show, a sporting event, or even a family night at the movies, you can now book those events in advance and forward the confirmation emails to plans@tripit.com to have them automatically added to your TripIt itinerary. TripIt automatically supports emails from many of the top ticketing sites like TicketMaster.

Alternative Transportation

June 2008

In addition to Rental Cars and Trains, you can now add other transportation options to your TripIt itineraries. This is ideal for a limo, shuttle bus, taxi, ferry, subway or however else you get around town. TripIt automatically supports confirmation emails from SuperShuttle and we'll quickly add alternative transportation providers as you forward your confirmation emails to plans@tripit.com.

Profiles

May 2008

You can now create a User Profile on TripIt like what you have on Facebook, LinkedIn or other social networking sites. Choose to display information like your photo, company name, trips taken, cities visited and much more. So instead of just showing up as a name in TripIt, you can now create a travel identity that lets friends and colleagues know what kind of traveler you are. If you're a frequent traveler, into social networking, or just like being organized, then you'll want to take a minute to update your user profile at the Profile and Privacy page.

Cruises

May 2008

TripIt now offers users the ability to add a cruise to their TripIt itinerary, along with other details about pre and post-cruise travel, ports-of-call and other activities on their trip. Users can also forward their cruise confirmation emails from Travelocity and major cruise lines to TripIt and have all that information automatically added to their TripIt itinerary.
